Facebook Number One?

Presently in the year 2009, Facebook has taken hold of the lead within the social networking scene and does not seem likely to give that position up any time soon. So, what is it about Facebook that has users leaving Myspace and running over to Facebook. For one thing, Facebook does not have the same customization options as Myspace, but apparently many of the games offered at Myspace are now at Facebook.

Recently it came as quite a surprise to find out that many of the games on Myspace were over at Facebook, honesly I found it kind of strange. Personally, the options offered at Myspace are something enjoyed, however Facebook is another site enjoyed as well. I'm still trying to comprehend why people are so infatuated with Facebook when Myspace has so much more to offer in relation to the things you are able to do with design.

One thing Facebook does have that Myspace lacks, is the customization of an individuals link. Recently, I took it upon myself to start trying out all of the different social networking sites, which I plan to write about on here. As far as I am concerned, trying is believing and Facebook annoys me at times and so does Myspace, but then again it has to do with the mood of the individual, experience, along with other things as well. As far as first place is concerned, I would have to say they tie.

Myspace Losing its Place in the Social Networking Scene, While Facebook Quickly Gains

There are many social networking sites in the world today. In 2004, both Myspace and Facebook became known to the public. Myspace was known more for teenage usage and Facebook more for college students.

For years Myspace lead the race between the two. In 2007, after leaving Yahoo Myspace was one of the most sought after deals within the search engine market. Google became partners and providers of search advertising and functions exclusively. As part of the deal Google arranged to make payments to Fox Interactive Media totaling around 900 million dollars until 2010 and were to begin the first quarter in 2007. The deal was originally made as beneficial to both sides.

As for Facebook in 2007, they working on ways to make headway and surpass their competition. They begain advertising offerings of big cash prizes for individuals who developed apps for Facebook. This was a big deal since Myspace did not offer any of their consumers a way to make money off any of the apps that they made for their company. Another big step for their company was the investment of 240 million dollars by Microsoft, so that they could have 1.6 stake in the company.  At this time, when only three years old Facebook is estimated to be worth about 15 billion dollars and with expected revenues of 150 million.

Of course there is more pertaining to the Microsoft buying stakeholder ship in Facebook, but that is for another day when we talk about search engine marketing battleing it out. Now the question that many have now, is Myspace heading toward the grave? Some experts would say yes, especially after all of the negative attention they have gotten through online sexual predators and then there are others that say no, but they are far and few between. Most say to keep your eye out of Facebook since they are the up and coming social networking place to be. It appears at this time, number speak for themselves. Facebook has become finally what they aimed for, more popular than Myspace and it seems as they continue to gain popularity, Myspace continues to dig a whole for themselves.

As a user of both, really there is no preference. However a lot of my friends have left Myspace, but at this time I'm not ready to follow, especially if there is a chance that Facebook will start to charge. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not paying for something that was free in the beginning, especially when they make more money than I'll ever see. I don't know what you think, but I would love to hear.

• Lastly, always make sure to back up you're information on the computer in case something were to happen. You do not want to be left without. There is always the potential for things to happen, such as you're computer breaking or data loss due to a virus. You never know and should always stay one step ahead.

A good reason for this corresponds to the websites that share the information from you to thousands of other sites.

If you are going to post on forums, make sure to use an email address that is not the one that you generally use, nor does it connect with your personal information.There are many options available now in order to protect your email address. As many of you know, Mother's day is around the corner and is a special day for the observance of the women who have raised us. The Lurking Dangers of Online

Online dangers range on two ends of the scale. One side regards the stealing of one's identity or financial information, while the other end deals with viruses. Well, everyone has their own opinions on the matter of what is worst, but it all boils down to the need to protect oneself and family online.

As many of the people saw, on my last post I discussed the need for reputation management in some cases. Honestly, who would have thought we would have to worry about someone bad mouthing us online and tearing apart our business as a repercussion? Unfortunately the internet does not just involve predators, viruses, bad mouthing, but rather a whole array of different hidden dangers that people need to watch for.

On one occasion, I remember how someone hacked into my computers (mac) and stole a whole bunch of programs from the computer that were worth quite a bit of money. After doing this, they were so kind as to trash a lot of the stuff on my computer, so that it would no longer work and also did me the favor of hacking into the router and gaining control of that while they were at it. I mean, how kind. Prior to this, my PC had a virus that took pictures of all the information that I was doing on the computer. This virus was so intelligent, just imagine if the person behind it actually used their mind for good rather than this nonsense.

Unfortunately without the right protection on your computer or the knowledge of how to use the computer, this is the type of stuff that happens. With the mac, I had the airport on since this was new to me and I did not understand it and the PC, well PC and I have always had our differences, but slowly he and I are starting to get better acquainted. For some reason the mac turned out as an easier computer for use, after learning the ins and outs of it, rather than the PC, which has been a struggle for years. For some reasons, I'm very good at getting viruses on it, whether or not there is a anti-virus on it.
