Today it seems, technology continues to increase in the usefulness it has, however it appears with more technology, it becomes easier for people to isolate. With the increased technology comes less of a reason for people to have to meet face to face. Although this serves its purposes, the question arises as to what kind of detrimental impact this may have in the future.
Human nature requires socialization for optimal survival. This does not mean people will die without social interaction, but rather the lack of interaction fosters the development of emotional and mental problems. Studies have shown infants without social interaction are more prone to death than are those who are enabled the ability to establish a social relationship with another individual acting as their caretaker.
Although the studies do not extend into adulthood, the assumption is this kind of research supports problems endured later in life. Humans started as civilizations having to work together for survival and later dispersed into more independent roles. Considering this, what do you think?
